The other day I was trying to log on to the Gauhati University’s web portal. It has important links for employees as well as students with regard to filling up forms for examination, downloading admit cards, registration, and other general notification.
But I was horribly fooled by the site as I was unable to sign in through my existing user login, ie, the user ID (application number) and password, which I had registered with last year. There is no ‘forgot password’ option for three login options. One just cannot log in through one’s application number and registration number since the site does not accept the previous login password.
After trying for a couple of days, I was finally able to enter the site, but with great difficulties. One can only log in through one’s roll number and the password must be in the format, stating one’s date of birth as a password: DD/MM/YYYY. Never forget to use the backslash.
