‘Immunization cards mandatory for issuing birth certificates’

KHONSA, May 30: Khonsa ADC Jalash Pertin said production of immunization registration cards of children has been made mandatory for issuing birth certificates.
Speaking during a meeting of the Tirap district task force for immunization here on Thursday, Pertin advised the health department to keep the surroundings of the hospital clean.
“Burning of bottles, plastic gloves, disposal syringes, etc, should be banned in order to avoid pollution in and around the town,” he said, and suggested that an awareness drive on cleanliness be carried out jointly by the health, education, panchayati raj and ICDS departments.
Earlier, DRCHO Dr N Angu spoke on the micro-plan for the immunization programme to be carried out in the district, focusing on rotavirus.
