KANGKONG, Jun 6: As part of the Financial Literacy Week (3-7 June), 35 farmers and SHG members attended a ‘financial literacy and awareness programme’ organized by the Roing branch of the Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB) at Kangkong village in Lower Dibang Valley district on Thursday.
The programme was supported by the NABARD’s regional office in Itanagar.
APRB Branch Manager PB Chetry briefed the participants on the different types of accounts that can be maintained in a bank, and enumerated the benefits of having a bank account. He also spoke on social security schemes like the PMJDY, the PMSBY, the PMJJBY, and the APY.
NABARD District Development Manager Nitya Mili enumerated various schemes of the NABARD, such as promotion of SHGs, JLGs, MEDPs, farmers’ clubs, farmers-producers organizations, rural marts, etc.
Mili also spoke about the CM’s flagship schemes like the CMKRY and the DDUBY, and central schemes like the Mudra Yojana, the Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme and the National Livestock Mission.
