BSNL GM promises better telecom service

ITANAGAR, Jun 6: The general manager (GM) of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) here recently assured a delegation of the Galo Students’ Union (GSU) that prompt measures would be initiated to end the problems caused by irregular BSNL network service in the Galo inhabited areas, the GSU informed in a release.
Members of the union, comprising its general secretary Deny Boje and vice presidents Jumdak Taso and Takam Hapu, among others, visited the GM here recently and highlighted the problems faced by BSNL customers, such as frequent call drops, inaccessible internet, and overall weak strength of the BSNL network in Gensi, Kora, Yomcha, Liromoba, Tirbin, Baririjo and Darak circles of various districts.
The GSU team urged the GM to direct every sub-divisional officer concerned to ensure early and regular functionality of the BSNL’s services.
The union said in its release that the GM also expressed concern over “the work along the national highway leading to frequent cutting down of wires and cables during road construction.”
The union also appealed to the public and customers of said areas to support the BSNL while it is carrying out its work.
