BOMDILA, Jun 17: The district and sessions judge here in West Kameng district on Monday sentenced accused Jiten Saikia to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment, disposing of Case No 09/ 2013 (WSD/BDL) under Section 302 (Part I) of the IPC.
District and Sessions Judge Gote Mega also on Monday sentenced accused Islam Ali to rigorous imprisonment of 10 years, disposing of Case No 10/2013 (WSD/BDL) under Section 304 (Part I) of the IPC.
Both the accused have also been slapped with a fine of Rs 5000 each. The judge ruled that the duo would undergo further rigorous imprisonment of three years if they default on the payment of the fine.
