BASAR, Jun 21: In its ongoing effort to find remedial measures to improve the deteriorating education system in Galo inhabited districts, a team of the Galo Students’ Union (GSU) on Friday held a joint consultative meeting with all the BEOs, principals and headmasters here in Lepa Rada district.
During the meeting, GSU president Mepe Ete expressed serious concern over the poor performance of the students in the last CBSE exams, and urged the principals and the headmasters to identify the causes of the poor results.
Ete said the GSU would submit its report to the state government for initiating corrective measures and dealing with the issues confronting the schools and the education scenario in the Galo inhabited districts.
Highlighting the importance of cordial relations between students and teachers, Himalayan University assistant professor Minge Ori said “unless there is good relationship between teachers and students, teaching-learning process will not be possible.” He also advised parents to guide their wards to accord utmost respect to their teachers.
The principals and headmasters who attended the meeting placed their suggestions to improve the education system in the Galo inhabited districts.
Earlier, the GSU team called on local MLA Gokar Basar, and requested him to take special care of the education sector. The MLA assured to extend every possible help in the union’s endeavour to make the area educationally developed.
