ZIRO, Jun 21: A team of volunteers from Pune, Maharashtra, conducted a series of ‘Gyan-Setu’ science workshops at various government schools in the capital complex from 13 to 20 June.
Gyan-Setu is an initiative of Jnana Prabodhini, a social organization based in Pune, which works in the fields of education, research and rural development. The organization has been conducting science workshops at government schools in different states of the country. Its workshops are aimed at inculcating interest in science among students and promoting social integration in the country with the help of specially designed modules.
The workshops, which were conducted at seven schools in Itanagar and Naharlagun, involved demonstration of basic science concepts using simple tools like straws, scissors, bottles, etc, and included games, stories, discussions and hands-on activities for the students.
The workshops were conducted at the government middle schools in Mowb-II, Niti Vihar, ESS Sector, C Sector, D Sector, Damsite, and Model Village.
