ITANAGAR, Jun 24: Chief Minister Pema Khandu urged the NABARD for early implementation of the recommendations made during the state level conclave on ‘Perspective planning for resurgent agriculture & allied sector in Arunachal Pradesh’, which had been held between the state government and the NABARD last year.
Khandu made the request during a meeting with NABARD General Manager (GM) Gopa Kumaran Nair here on Monday.
Stating that the state has been reaping the benefits of various NABARD-supported schemes, Khandu urged the NABARD to work in close coordination with the state government “for overall development of the state.”
The NABARD GM urged the CM to take necessary steps to enhance the state’s borrowing capacity to utilize the loans already sanctioned under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.
Stating that the cooperative sector in the state needs a revamp, Nair urged the state government to set up a committee to evolve a development plan. (CMO)
