Workshop under PRISM scheme held

DIRANG, Jun 24: A workshop on ‘innovation and entrepreneurship’ was organized by Guwahati-based TOCIC IIT’s department of scientific and industrial research (DSIR) in association with the ICAR-National Research Centre on Yak here in West Kameng district on 19 June.
The programme was held under the Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Startups and MSMEs (PRISM) scheme of the DSIR.
DSIR representative Dr R Banerjee explained the scheme, which aims to support individual innovators financially, in order to achieve the agenda of inclusive development.
ADC Toko Babu advised the participants to take maximum benefit from the scheme.
Kolkata ICAR-NINFET ToT Head, Dr AN Roy, delivered talks on technology development and translation, while Kharagpur IIT Associate Professor Dr Mamoni Banerjee delivered a lecture on ‘Innovation & entrepreneurship’.
ICAR-NRC on Yak Director (in-charge) Dr Vijay Paul highlighted the centre’s research activities, and spoke on research areas for developing suitable technologies to support yak husbandry.
Three out of the seven individual innovators who presented their ideas and innovations were awarded after evaluation by a panel of experts.
