ITANAGAR, Jun 26: Unknown miscreants reportedly attacked the Itanagar to Shillong Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS) bus at Manshari near Lokra under Chaurdhuar police station of Sonitpur district, Assam at around 10 PM on Tuesday.
Officials from the APSTS informed that the miscreants were coming from the opposite direction in a pickup truck (Tata Mobile). They reportedly stopped their vehicle and hurled a 300 to 400 gram stone, targeting the bus driver.
A passenger, identified as N Dada who was sitting on seat number 1 reportedly sustained internal injuries on his chest after being hit by the stone.
The windshield glass was broken into pieces and the driver escaped with minor bruises on his head and neck from the shattered glass, the source informed.
“An FIR could not be filed as the police personnel that arrived on the spot said that the bus had to be taken to the police station for an MVI report, which is a cumbersome process,” the source added.
