Need for clean water in schools stressed

ROING, Jun 27: Roing ADC Tapik Pertin on Thursday emphasized the need to provide clean water to schools “for sanitation purpose and cooking of midday meals for students.”
He said this while chairing a meeting with members of the Lower Dibang Valley District Task Force on Immunization and the District Quality Assurance Committee (DQAC) here in view of the upcoming Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight.
DMO Dr R Tatan, DRCHO Dr Raju Mena, DDSE Ego Doye, representatives of the WCD and the PHE departments, programme officers, and MOs of the district attended the meeting.
The ADC advised the departments to spread awareness regarding precautions to be taken during the monsoon, saying contaminated water is one of the main causes of illnesses.
The DMO and the DRCHO informed about the government’s decision to include rotavirus vaccine under the routine immunization programme, and constitution of the DQAC. (DIPRO)
