Org alleges irregularities in awarding PMGSY works

LEKHI, June 29: The Young Arunachal Movement (YAM) has alleged gross irregularity in awarding of PMGSY works in the state.
The YAM said it had submitted a complaint to the chief secretary on 3 June against the RWD secretary, accusing the latter of “favouritism in awarding work for the PMGSY work project for construction of the HSH BRTF road to Yangte-Jhome PWD road-Palin block boundary, Package No AR/14/05/062.”
YAM chairman Tarh Hari said this on the sideline of a YAM meeting on “important issues pertaining to rampant corruption in various departments of the state” at Lekhi village on Saturday.
In its complaint, the organization alleged violation of the laid down criteria in awarding the project work, adding that “the financial bid evaluation committee headed by the officer, who is also CEO, ARRDA, RWD, has recommended for awarding of the said work.”
Hari said the CS has forwarded the complaint to the vigilance commission and assured to take corrective measures. He said the organization has also met with the RWD minister and apprised him of the matter.
