ITANAGAR, Jul 2: Legal metrology & consumer affairs (LMCA) assistant controller (HQ), Supriyo Chakraborty, passed away at the RK Mission Hospital here on 1 July after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife and a son.
Chakraborty had joined the LMCA department in 1989, and had served the department for over 30 years.
The department has deeply mourned his demise, and termed his death a great loss.
In a condolence message, LMCA Controller Hoktum Ori recalled Chakraborty as a sincere, dedicated and hardworking officer who had been awarded with a commendation certificate by the state government in recognition of his outstanding work.
“He had also recently published a book titled Consumer Guide Book,” Ori said.
The staff of the department observed a two-minute silence in honour of the deceased, and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
