DAMBUK, Jul 18: The Lower Dibang Valley district unit of the Adi Bane Kebang (ABK) organised a plantation drive here on Thursday as part of the 70th Vanmahotsav celebration.
During the programme, which was organised in collaboration with the Dibang forest division of the environment, forests & climate change department, 200 saplings of ornamental trees were planted in and around the premises of the ADC office.
“The celebration is being conducted under the theme ‘Festival of trees is festival of life’, mainly to create awareness among the public against deforestation,” said Forest Training Institute Director Tobang Pertin.
He said the plantation drive would continue on Friday at Rayang village.
