One arrested for possession of cannabis

ITANAGAR, Jul 18: The capital police arrested a 45-year-old woman from her kiosk (gumti) near the Punjabi Dhaba here on 16 July for possession of cannabis (ganja), and recovered 800 gms of cannabis.
Capital SP Tumme Amo informed that he had received a complaint on social media regarding the kiosk, and had been informed that the shopkeeper sold cannabis to youths.
“Accordingly, DSP Dekio Gumja sent out two constables as decoys in civil dress to find out the exact location of the kiosk on 15 July,” Amo said.
After collecting information, the SP sent out a police party, comprising the DSP, SIs Millo Sumpi and S Singh and five constables, to raid the kiosk, and recovered the cannabis.
“A case, vide Ita PS C/No 178/19 U/S 20(b) of the NDPS Act, has been registered, and the accused, Tarak Yaha, has been arrested for selling cannabis,” the SP said.
