‘Younger generation needs quality edn’

KIMIN, Jul 19: Kimin ADC Likha Tejji said the need of the hour is to provide quality education to the younger generation.
Speaking during a ‘parents-teachers meet-cum-special felicitation function’ at the government higher secondary school here in Papum Pare district on Friday, the ADC, who is also the chairman of the school management committee, said the function would motivate other government schools in the state to organise such meets.
“It will help to improve the relations between parents, teachers and students,” he said.
Tejji appealed to the teaching community to “devote some extra time for other activities, like physical education and ability tests, which will help to improve the skills of the students.”
The ADC also gave away the awards to the students who secured the top three ranks in different classes.
GHSS Principal Nyami Riba highlighted the programmes and schemes under the education department, and apprised the parents of the pre-board examination for the students of Class 10 and 12 scheduled to be conducted in December.
Altogether 200 parents attended the programme, and 21 students were awarded.
Officers of various departments along with local leaders also attended the function.
