TAWANG, Jul 30: An 11-year-old schoolboy was killed in a road accident here on Tuesday when a Maruti Swift car (AR-03-4507) hit him and his father at Medical Colony here.
Tawang SP Sagar Singh Kalsi informed that the deceased has been identified as Damchin Tsering, of Luguthang Thingbu circle in Tawang district. The boy, accompanied by his father, Tashi Tsering, was reportedly on his way to the district hospital for medical treatment when the incident occurred.
“The boy was immediately rushed to the district hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The father of the deceased has also been injured and is currently undergoing treatment,” the SP said.
Damchin Tsering was a student of Class 5 in Tawang Public School. He was reportedly suffering from fever, and was on the way to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car, identified as former ADC Lobsang Phuntsok, has been detained by the police.
