BABUK, Jul 31: The damaged power transmission tower number 43 of the 132 KV Aalo-Pasighat transmission line, located in Babuk village in East Siang district was restored at around 8.30 pm on Wednesday in a sort of record time with dedicated service of the staff of power department, informed Power (Monitoring) Superintending Engineer TK Tara.
The tower had collapsed recently resulting in disruption of power supply to Pasighat and all the downstream areas up to Namsai.
“Accordingly, normal grid power supply to Pasighat was restored at about 9.35 pm and all the downstream loads from EHV sub-stations of Roing, Tezu and Namsai were also restored gradually with the grid supplies through the Pasighat-Roing-Tezu-Namsai 132 KV transmission line at around 11.15 pm after clearance from the NERLDC. Now system is totally restored,” the SE informed.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein appreciated Tara and his team for restoration of the power transmission line in record time.
“Such committed and dedicated officers are an asset to the department. I am sure that such enthusiasm and zeal to work in public interest will improve the power scenario of the state and take the power department of Arunachal a long way,” Mein said.
