Dear Editor,
On the very first day of your second term as chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, you announced to extend maternity leave of 180 days to casual and contingency staff, which was only for regular employees till now.
This announcement had brought great sigh of relief and happiness to all the mothers. But this happiness was short lived. When we applied for the said leave in our respective offices, to our dismay, we got a surprising reply that they have never received any official order.
Even after two months of the announcement, no official order has been made.
Hence, maternity leave announcement has become mere a lip service.
Through this daily, I request our chief minister to make maternity leave of 180 days to casual and contingency staff real.
