TEZU, Aug 5: The Indira Gandhi Government College (IGGC) here in Lohit district conducted its first ever ‘general orientation programme’ on Monday, during which new students were oriented to the academic environment, students’ amenities and infrastructure profile of the institution.
IGGC Principal Dr Kangki Megu urged the students to “inculcate a sense of responsibility, academic perfection and punctuality,” and advised them to “use social media with self restraint.”
In view of the frequent road accidents in Tezu, he advised the students to strictly follow road safety measures and traffic rules.
Senior faculty members, Drs T Yama, PC Swain, MS Sharma, Fames Lingi, SK Pradhan and P Ongong, and Kesang Drema delivered orientation lectures and guided the students on developing their personality and careers while pursuing undergraduate courses in the college.
The faculty members also outlined the dos and don’ts for the new students.
Later, Drs Yama and Pradhan escorted the students on a campus visit and acquainted them with the infrastructure and facilities in the college.
The orientation programme was organised by the IGGC’s career guidance cell.
Separate orientation programmes were also organised for the commerce and science students of the college.
