NAHARLAGUN, Aug 9: Members of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), led by its Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi, visited the Oju Welfare Association (OWA) here on Friday and interacted with rescued children as well as with the special children at the OWA’s specialized adoption agency.
The team also visited the Women Helpline and the one-stop centre run by the organization. OWA chairperson Ratan Anya briefed the visitors on the schemes run by the organization.
The team also interacted with women survivors of child marriage and domestic problems.
Techi advised the inmates to abide by the rules and regulations of the organization, and assured the women survivors that their cases would be redressed at the earliest.
The commission donated Rs 50,000 for medical expenses of the inmates of the OWA’s Swadhar Greh and children’s home.
The team also provided sanitary pads to the female inmates.
