DAPORIJO, Aug 17: Alumni of the government higher secondary school here in Upper Subansiri district on Saturday said they would give back to their alma mater in ways that are beneficial and meaningful for the students and the school.
During a meeting chaired by Tagin Cultural Society secretary-general Lardik Kare, the alumni discussed various problems being faced by the school, such as shortage of teachers, infrastructure deficit, encroachment on school land, etc, and decided to take up the issues
with the appropriate authorities, informed the school’s alumni association’s interim committee chairman Dosh Dasi.
The alumni, who are currently serving in various government departments and different fields, said they are ready to teach the students in the classrooms as per their convenience.
Kare, who is serving in the PWD as EE, and Yasok Ngate Hina, who is serving in the WRD as AE, said they are ready to teach the students as when and their service is sought.
The alumni association, headed by Dasi, would soon be holding a series of meetings with all the stakeholders, including the deputy commissioner, teachers, parents, guardians and community leaders, for the betterment of the students of the school in particular and the society as a whole.
