DAPORIJO, Aug 18: The youth wing of the Upper Subansiri District Christian Revival Church Council, in collaboration with the District Vector-Borne Disease Control Society and the blood bank of the district hospital here in Upper Subansiri district, recently organized an awareness meeting on Japanese encephalitis (JE) and a blood donation camp here.
Attending the programme as resource person, Dr Bini Nirrin apprised the people of JE, how it is spread, and the preventive measures against it. He advised all to keep their surroundings clean and destroy mosquito breeding sites.
DMO Dr T Taki lauded the religious body for rendering selfless services to humankind. He also advised the residents of Daporijo township to not only keep their houses but also their neighbourhoods clean.
Later, members of the organization and others donated blood to the district blood blank.
The donors expressed their willingness to donate blood, whenever required, for needy patients.
More than 700 people attended the programme.
