ITANAGAR, Aug 18: The Nyorch Village Welfare Committee has put a blanket ban on hunting, all kinds of fishing, swimming, hiking, trekking, picnicking, and collection of forest resources, including bamboo, bamboo shoots and firewood, within the village’s jurisdiction with immediate effect, it stated in a release.
It said violation of the ban would invite a penalty of Rs 50,000, besides handing over of the violator(s) to the police for initiating legal action.
