ITANAGAR, Aug 21: The seven-member team of the Manabhum Off Roaders Club of Arunachal (MOCA) was felicitated by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday for their performance and coming in third place at the Indian edition of the 6th Rainforest Challenge (RFC), held in Goa from 3 to 10 August.
During the meeting, the members highlighted the various issues confronting team MOCA and gave inputs on devising a roadmap to makeoff-roading event a popular sport in the state.
“Coming from an area where drugs and substance abuse is rampant, the MOCA team believes off-roading keeps us grounded and offers a healthy lifestyle”, said Tseng Tsing Mein, one of the team members.
The MOCA is primarily a group of cousins and friends who have a passion for the off-road lifestyle.
In the RFC-2019, team members Chow Ujjal Namshum and Chow Sujeewan Chowtang bagged the third place in the overall rankings and the club also won the ‘Team’ award.
The club had also won the ‘Team Spirit’ award and Namshum had taken the ‘Rookie of the year’ award in its maiden appearance in the RFC last year.
