ITANAGAR, Aug 29: The performance of the western zone districts of the state in implementing the National Health Mission (NHM) was reviewed during a state NHM meeting here on Thursday.
The western zone districts are Upper Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Upper Siang, Kra Daadi, Lower Subansiri, Tawang, East Kameng, Papum Pare, West Kameng, West Siang, Kamle, and Capital Complex.
Chairing the meeting, Health & Family Welfare Secretary Juhi Mukherjee called for concerted efforts from everyone in improving the health indicator of all districts.
Stressing on “quality data from districts,” she said “only accurate data should be fed to the portal for effective implementation of any programme in the district.”
Mukherjee instructed the authorities concerned to provide incentives to the ASHAs on time to keep them motivated, and emphasized on ensuring full immunization coverage. She also urged all the districts to make their best efforts to earn the Kayakalp Award, “at least for one PHC.”
Family Welfare Director Alok Yirang urged the officials from the districts to coordinate and focus on achieving the set targets on time, while NHM nodal officer Dr D Padung asked the participants to work on improving the grey areas and share the NHM reports on time.
RRC Director Dr Ashok Roy, SPOs and NOs, along with consultants from the WHO, the UNICEF and the NHM also attended the meeting.
