PASIGHAT, Aug 29: Forty-four farmers from East Siang and Siang districts are participating in a three-day training programme on ‘Economic development of farmers of Arunachal Pradesh through organic cultivation and marketing of agricultural and horticultural crops’ which got underway at the College of Horticulture and Forestry here in East Siang district on Thursday.
The programme will feature lectures on the economic benefits of organic farming, certification of organic produces, cultivation of horticultural crops, marketing strategies, etc, by experts from different parts of the country.
The training programme is funded by the union agriculture & farmers’ welfare ministry’s Chaudhary Charan Singh National Training Institute of Agriculture Marketing.
