SENUA, Aug 30: The academic session of the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) here in Longding district got underway on Thursday with a function to mark the occasion.
Located some 3 kms from Longding town, the VKV is exclusively for girl students. It had been inaugurated by Chief Minister Pema Khandu during the ‘Arunachal Rising’ campaign.
Thursday’s function was attended by Vivekananda Kendra Secretary Apurna Palekar, VKVs Arunachal Pradesh Trust (VKVAPT) Education Officer Unikrsihnan, alumni, students, and their parents.
Palekar in her address sought cooperation from the public, the government and the VKV alumni to ensure smooth functioning of the school, saying “the support of the parents and the local community is as important as that of the students and the school management team.”
In a message, Longding MLA Tanpho Wangnaw expressed gratitude to the state government and the VKVAPT for establishing the school in Longding. He lauded the people of Senua for donating land for establishing the school, and expressed hope that the school authority would impart quality education to the students. (DIPRO)
