Career guidance prog held

ITANAGAR, Sep 20: Final year students of the Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (RGGP) here participated in a career guidance programme organised by the polytechnic’s career counselling cell on Friday.
Addressing the students, the counselling cell’s coordinator, Dr Jitu Saikia, dwelt on the history of the cell since its establishment in 2018.
RGGP Principal Dr AK Tripathy lamented that “many students are selected for different jobs in private companies during campus selection, but most of them leave their jobs within a few months,” and underscored the importance of employability, which, he said, “can be developed in a student by learning to apply his theoretical knowledge in practicality.”
The management director of Third Eye Education Pvt Ltd, Sanjeeb Kakati, advised the students to “know their capability and show it to the world and use their ideas and creativity for the betterment of society.”
The programme featured sessions on topics such as the definition of career, what to do for higher studies, job opportunities for diploma students, and entrepreneurship as a career.
