CHIMPU, Sep 27: The silver jubilee edition of the Vishwakarma Football Running Trophy Tournament will be conducted at the KV No 2 playground here from 5 October.
The tournament’s fixture was drawn on Friday in the presence of Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) Director Gumnya Karbak.
As many as 32 teams, divided into eight groups of four, are participating in the tournament.
The teams are Group A: Pigey Poro FC, Yapa Mwda FC, Gohpur Sporting Club, Damsite United FC; Group B: Notte Bateh Sporting Club, Manipuri FC, Ganga Village FC, Ward No 7b FC; Group C: Hite Chatey FC, Panthers SC, Comrade’s VKV FC, BN Youth Club FC; Group D: Torbu Dalvu Sporting Club, USDCCCCC FC, Pus-Par Namping FC; Group E: All Vivek Vihar Youth Association FC, Bozochem FC, VKV Kuporijo Alumni FC, Chimpu United FC; Group F: 5/1 United FC, T Group FC, Ward No 1 Youth FC, Young Generation FC Popunallah; Group G: Pakke-Kessang Sporting Club, Chimpu FC, Aniya Rayo FC, High Spirit United FC Chimpu; and Group H: Champion FC, Green Pioneers FC, East Arrow FC, Hakang Haya FC.
Karbak said such tournaments are important to identify the hidden talents.
“Such tournaments not only provide the players with a platform to show their talents but also help the sports department in its efforts to identify the hidden football talents,” he said.
He assured of all possible help to the organizers of such events.
The tournament is being organized by the Lion Club of Chimpu.
