PASIGHAT, Oct 1: In all, 38.4 units of blood was collected during a voluntary blood donation camp conducted by Ayang, a local NGO under the aegis of the Department of Health & Family Welfare, GoAP at Bakin Pertin General Hospital on the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day here on Tuesday.
Themed ‘Be a Hero to Someone in Need’, the camp is an initiative of founder chairperson of Ayang, Aini Taloh, who has received many national recognitions for her contributions in voluntary blood donation campaign.
Lauding the voluntary spirit of the youth in particular and the general public for joining in the movement to save precious human lives on the occasion, Taloh said, “youth are the agents of change and I call upon them to join the blood donation movement to save humanity by sharing their love through their veins.”
BPGH Joint Director Dr D Raina, Medical Superintendent Dr YR Darrang, Pathologists Dr G Jonkey and Dr Kaling Jerang were also present on the occasion. (DIPRO)
