NAHARLAGUN, Oct 4: The Papum Pare district non-communicable disease (NCD) cell held a health check-up camp at the Oju Welfare Association (OWA) campus here on Friday to mark the World Heart Day (WHD).
Ninety-eight OWA staffers and others benefitted from the camp, which was conducted by District NCD Programme Officer Dr R Ronya, TRIMHS Medicine Specialist Dr Ram Ratan, and TRIMHS NCD nodal officer Dr Gomi Basar.
The check-ups were done for body mass index, blood sugar, etc, and the patients were provided with counselling and free medicines.
“Though the World Heart Day is observed on this day, such health check-up camps are conducted from time to time to bring mass awareness about non-communicable diseases like diabetics, hypertension, cancer, cardiovascular disorder, pulmonary diseases, etc,” Dr Ronya said.
She advised all to adopt a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy foods, exercising, practicing yoga, and maintaining their bodyweight.
