TEZU, Oct 4: Over 140 students and faculty members of various departments of IGG College (IGGC) here in Lohit district participated in a seminar on ‘Types of guidance: Educational, vocational and personal’, conducted by the college’s education department on Friday.
Addressing the participants, IGGC Principal Dr Kangki Megu said the seminar was “a platform to develop a critical outlook and approach that will lead to creation of new knowledge.”
He advised the students to seek guidance from their teachers and other professionals for educational, vocational and personal purposes.
Education HoD Dr Tage Yama in her address advised the students to make use of the seminar to “build up confidence and combat the fear of nervousness,” while Assistant Professor of Education, Dr SK Pradhan, said “guidance is universal in nature, and each and every individual requires guidance at all stages of life.”
Dr Pradhan also said that educational, vocational and personal guidance go a long way in helping children accomplish their goals in life.
Hindi HoD Dr MS Sharma spoke on the importance of guidance in “nurturing human values in the hearts and minds of the students.”
