Nachung terms allegations baseless

NIRJULI, Oct 10: Denying allegations against him doing the rounds on social media, Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) president Tarh Nachung on Thursday termed them “baseless, unfounded, and contradictory to the facts.”
“I along with ACCI PRO Tehi Pekho, chief advisor Pradeep Kumar, Naharlagun BWC general secretary Kipa Nai and Nirjuli BWC secretary Tok Tabin asked hundreds non-Arunachalees gathered in front of the Maruti showroom in Naharlagun on Wednesday to disperse immediately and open their shops,” Nachung told media persons.
Stating that whatever happened was unfortunate but the police have already arrested the accused and a case has been registered at the Naharlagun police station, he said that he and Nai had “reprimanded the group over making an issue out of a non-issue and sending a wrong message outside the state.”
He said he and the others had asked the people to open the shops immediately, as the shops had been closed without permission from the ACCI and the BWCs.
Nachung said that Naharlagun PS OC, Inspector K Yangfo, leading a team of police personnel, had also assisted in dispersing the gathering.
“The financial help extended to the widow of the deceased reflected the humanitarian sense of Arunachalees at a time of distress,” he said, adding that the ACCI is against any illegal market bandh or rally.
