ANINI, Oct 11: The Dibang Valley Women’s Welfare Society in collaboration with the Kanhi Kanla and Maselo Zinu Charitable Foundation organised a marathon, themed ‘Run Anini’, here on Thursday to mark the 40th foundation day of the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS).
Class 12 student Ronini Umpe and Class 11 student Neha Misu, both from the government higher secondary school here, won the marathon in the boys’ and the girls’ category, respectively.
The run was also aimed at promoting physical fitness, the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana, suicide prevention, and the World Mental Health Day.
More than 120 people from all walks of life took part in the marathon.
