DC launches NABARD’s PLP for Lohit

TEZU, Oct 18: Lohit DC Prince Dhawan on Friday launched the potential linked credit plan (PLP), 2020-21, for Lohit district, prepared by the NABARD.
The function was attended by officers of all the banks in the district, and the heads of line departments, besides NABARD DDM Nitya Mili.
The NABARD prepares PLPs for each district of the country every year, in order to facilitate the flow of institutional credit to priority sector activities, including crop loan and term loan for agriculture and allied activities.
In this annual exercise, the NABARD first maps the credit potential that is expected to stimulate balanced growth of all the sectors of the economy of a district.
The PLP projections serve as bases for banks in preparing the annual credit plan. The PLP for 2020-21 is based on the theme, ‘High-tech agriculture’.
“The potential for institutional credit to priority sector for the year 2020-21 has been estimated to the tune of Rs 2640.22 lakhs for Lohit district,” the NABARD informed in a release.
It said the potential for credit flow to the agriculture sector, including crop loan, has been estimated to the tune of Rs 2292.33 lakhs for Lohit.
