ITANAGAR, Nov 12: The Arunachal branch of the Indian Medical Association and the TRIHMS’ district NCD clinic are going to organise a ‘cycle campaign’ to create awareness on diabetes on 14 November to mark the World Diabetes Day.
The event will include a free diabetes screening and diabetic retinopathy screening (for eye complications) at the TRIHMS in Naharlagun, as well as at the RK Mission Hospital here.
Interested participants have been requested to bring their own bicycles and contact 9436069257 or 8794369798 for registration.
India stands second in the world in terms of diabetics, causing a significant burden not only to the global population but also to the indigenous population of Arunachal, irrespective of rural or urban areas.
