ITANAGAR, Nov 25: Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have in separate messages greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Constitution Day.
Constitution Day is observed on 26 November since 2015 to commemorate the adoption of the constitution of India, and to mark the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution.
The governor expressed hope that the occasion would further strengthen the resolve of the people to preserve, protect and defend the constitution.
“I appeal to all my fellow citizens of Arunachal Pradesh to uphold the sanctity of the Indian constitution, particularly the fundamental duties, as enshrined in it. Let us devote ourselves to the development, progress and prosperity of the society, the state and the nation in the true spirit of our constitution,” the governor said.
Khandu in his message said, “On this day in 1949, the constituent assembly of India formally adopted the constitution, and we celebrate it today as a mark of gratitude and respect to those who gave us one of the world’s best constitutions. This day also reminds us of our responsibility towards our country and its constitution.” (Raj Bhavan & CMO)
