ITANAGAR, Nov 27: The All Tirap, Changlang, Namsai & Longding Students’ Union Itanagar (ATCNLSUI) has expressed concern over the reports coming in from Namsai district regarding the clashes between the Adi and the Khamti communities and appealed to both the communities and their respective leaders to restore peace, tranquility and communal harmony in the region.
The union has also requested to the state government to come up with “a proper resolution for long-lasting solution,” and invited the government’s immediate intervention in the matter for early restoration of peaceful atmosphere.
While the ATCNLSUI appreciated the efforts made by the Namsai district administration (DA) in maintaining law and order, the union said that it looked forward to “more efforts from their (DA) end in bringing normalcy in the law and order situation at the soonest possible hour.”
