Meeting on PMSYMDY, NPS held

YUPIA, Dec 27: A meeting of the Papum Pare district-level implementation committee on the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Man-Dhan Yojna (PMSYMDY) for unorganised workers and the National Pension Scheme (NPS) for traders and self-employed persons was held here on Friday.
The meeting, which was chaired by DC Pige Ligu, reviewed the progress made under the two schemes. The working of the schemes at the field-level committee service centres (CSC) was also reviewed.
The DC urged every stakeholder to “sensitize the people to enroll under the PMSYMDY of unorganised target groups like ASHAs, anganwadi workers, masons, rickshaw pullers, self-employed persons, SHGs, brick kiln workers, rag pickers, street vendors, shop retailers, etc, so that they reap the benefits of such schemes.”
He also urged the CSCs’ district manager to enroll unorganised workers, “provided they have proper supporting documents.”
The LIC’s Itanagar branch manager spoke about the benefits of the PMSYMDY and the NPS. (DIPRO)
