SHOBUR, Jan 16: The Tawang unit of the field outreach bureau conducted a special outreach programme on ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, the swachhta action plan and the ban on single-use plastic at Shobur village in Tawang district on Wednesday.
PHED consultant Tenzin Phende sensitized the gathering to the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around their homes and village.
Stating that Arunachal has “attained the goal of becoming an open defecation-free state much before the national deadline of 2 October, 2019,” he informed that all households in Tawang district have been provided with IHHLs under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
PRT of the government residential school here, VN Gupta, and HGB Phurpa also spoke.
An awareness rally, group discussion, distribution of publicity materials, and theme-based essay writing and painting competitions were the highlights of the programme, which was attended by, among others, villagers of Shobur, Tsaigar, Yusum and Kangteng.
