NAMSAI, Feb 19: Six members of a family, including four minors were killed and six others injured when their car (Santro) met with an accident between Chongkham and Namsai in Namsai district on Tuesday evening.
Four people died on-the-spot, while two succumbed on the way to a hospital in Tinsukia, Assam.
The accident occurred when the car (AS-06T8555) hit a Mahindra pick-up vehicle parked on the roadside near 2nd Mile, close to the Poi Pee Mau ground.
The victims were returning from a marriage party from a village called Habi Gao under Namsai circle. The family belongs to a tea tribe community of Chesing Wingko village under Piyong circle.
