Speed up work in township area

Yet again the Itanagar administration has enforced a traffic diversion on NH 415 via Jullang to facilitate the ongoing four-lane construction work. As per the order of the deputy commissioner, which came into effect from 23 February onwards, traffic will be diverted from 9 pm to 6 am till 1 March. The diversion will definitely cause trouble to the people of the capital complex. Hopefully, the contractor will make optimum use of the time and complete the earth-cutting work near the Dree ground within the given timeframe.
The PWD highway as well as the contractor, TK Engineering, should concentrate on completing the work in the township area in Itanagar. The stretch from Chandranagar to the Raj Bhavan entry point should be taken up on priority. With the work season in the state about to end, a renewed push should be made to complete work on this particular stretch. At present the work in between Chandranagar and the Raj Bhavan entry point is progressing at a snail’s pace, which is a matter of deep concern. On several stretches, work for culverts and retaining wall has not even started. In Chandranagar area, three bridges are to be constructed, but the pace of work is extremely slow. Not even one bridge has been completed so far. This raises a serious question mark on the sincerity of the contractor and the PWD highway department. Therefore every effort should be made to speed up the work in the township area.
