Union min Athawale to participate in Nyokum celebration

ITANAGAR, Feb 25: Union Social Justice & Empowerment Minister, Ramdas Athawale, is scheduled to participate in the Nyokum celebration in Doimukh on 26 February.
Addressing reporters at the press club here on Tuesday, Republican Party of India (Athawale)’s Northeast & West Bengal observer, Vinod Nikalje, informed that Athawale will also be meeting with Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu later in the day.
Speaking about the party’s foray into the state, Nikalje said Tallar Phassang has been appointed as the convenor of the party’s Arunachal unit. He expressed hope that the party would work for the welfare of the people and for progress under Phassang’s leadership.
Nikalje said the party would contest the next elections in the state.
In January 2019, Athawale had visited Pasighat, in East Siang district, and held a meeting with the administrative and police officers there. He had also taken stock of various central schemes being implemented in the district for improving the living standard of the scheduled tribes of Arunachal.
