ROING, Mar 12: The Lower Dibang Valley district unit of the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service Officers’ Association (APCSOA) has vehemently condemned the assault on an APCS officer in Anini by two persons in the wee hours of 7 March.
In a representation to the DC here, the APCSOA unit said “the facts of the incident should be unearthed and all possible help should be rendered to the aggrieved officer in getting justice.”
The unit said the government should take up cases of assault on government employees seriously and frame stringent laws to punish offenders.
“This would not only instill a sense of security but also greatly enhance the work output of employees,” it said.
The officer, who had spent only a month in Anini after his joining his job, was attacked by two inebriated persons with a machete in front of his official residence.
Reportedly, the miscreants were arrested after an FIR had been lodged against them, but were let off on bail a day later.
