ITANAGAR, Mar 29: Health Secretary P Parthiban has informed that till date swab samples from 22 persons with Covid-19-like symptoms have been collected in the state.
Speaking to media persons on Sunday evening, Parthiban said the results of 18 samples have arrived and all of them are negative, while the results of the remaining four will be available by Monday.
“There are no positive cases, but we are not taking any chances,” he said.
The health secretary further informed that 900 people who have come to the capital complex from outside the state are being monitored.
“We are checking house to house and monitoring to see whether they are following the quarantine procedure. We have also decided to increase the number of quarantine facilities in Itanagar and Naharlagun,” Parthiban said.
He appealed to the people to visit the flu clinics if they experience any Covid-19-like symptoms.
“We have set up flu clinics in all the district hospitals and at TRIHMS. If anybody has a symptom – especially those coming from outside the state – they should contact the flu clinics for help,” he said.
