Rice sent to Shi-Yomi, delivery of food intensified in West Siang

AALO, Apr 1: Rice has been dispatched to Shi-Yomi district, which was staring at hunger following the lockdown after the outbreak of Covid-19 in the country.
305 quintals of rice for Mechuka, 100 for Tato, 245 for Monigong and 120 for Pidi have already been dispatched to preempt any ration crisis in the interior areas, said a press statement from the West Siang district administration.
Meanwhile, delivery of essential commodities to sectors and colonies of Aalo town has intensified.
The district administration is also ensuring easy passage of essential commodities to the circles and villages.
Magistrates, along with police led by the SP, and members of the ATPWDS and other NGOs are engaged in enforcing the shutdown. Disinfection activities are being carried at ATM booths, and men and vehicles on essential services duties are being allowed to enter the district.
DC Swetika Sachan and ADC Liyi Bagra on Wednesday reviewed the Covid-19 preparations with the DMO and other nodal medical officers. A district control room has been set up and is being manned by the DDMO. The busy Sipu Colony road has been barricaded by the residents.
