Over 2000 beneficiaries covered under SRDF

AALO, Apr 8: A total of 2682 people across West Siang district who have lost their livelihoods owing to the nationwide lockdown were provided with essential ration items under the state disaster response fund (SDRF) here on Wednesday.
DDMO Dorjee Nima and DLEO Sapbi Yomcha informed that of the targeted 3000 beneficiaries, some are being provided with food in the relief camp, while the rest of the migrant labourers have been provided with ration items.
The agriculture department carried out its first phase of distributing vegetables supplied by the Nyiko Bango. Villages like Kabu, Darka, Pobdi Bene and others have also volunteered to fill the scarcity for a few days, following the ban on import of vegetables from other states.
The Aalo Jama Masjid Trust donated Rs 25,000 to the DMO for combating Covid-19.
Meanwhile, traditional rituals are being performed in the villages, and some of the colonies here are still barricaded. Suppliers of essential commodities, medical teams, police and magistrates are being allowed access through volunteers. (DIPRO)
