PASIGHAT, Apr 9: Mebo (East Siang) MLA Lombo Tayeng on Thursday distributed free rations among the poor and the needy, particularly contingency staffers and casual labourers, of Mebo subdivision who do not have ration cards.
Tayeng, accompanied by Mebo ADC Hage Lailang, EACs Kabang Apum and Janes Mary Tayeng, and others, distributed rice, daal and salt to 300 families whose livelihoods have been affected due to the lockdown.
The Mebo administration has imposed Section 144 CrPC, prohibiting all kinds of public gathering and movement in groups of more than three persons within the subdivision from 6 am to 6 pm till 14 April.
Police and magistrates on duty, medical staff, ASHAs, staffs of the power and PHE departments, approved grocery shops, military personnel, and persons with medical emergencies have been exempted from the purview of lockdown. (DIPRO)
