DHARMAPUR, May 2: The Miao subdivision Covid-19 monitoring team on Friday visited Dharmapur-I, -II and -III and acquired firsthand information regarding the preparedness of the quarantine centres there for the returnees.
The team, comprising EAC Apollo James Lungphi, SDPO Tasi Darang, MO Dr Hensam Jongsam, nodal officer Nido Taka, SI Jano Aran and police personnel, inspected the amenities and facilities, including safe drinking water, at the designated quarantine centres.
The team interacted with the GBs and public leaders, and discussed with them ways to keep, monitor and deal with the returnees to be quarantined.
The SDPO advised the village heads and youth leaders to form volunteer teams to assist the administration and the police in observing and implementing the advisories and directives issued by the government from time to time.
Informing the villagers that Covid-19 pandemic is becoming a great health issue, the EAC sought their cooperation in fighting the disease.
Volunteers are regularly monitoring the movement of people along the porous interstate boundary.
